Comments: Explores the many cultures that fall under the label of “Asian American” This lesson examines the immigration forces that are making this ethnic group the fastest growing group in our society. A case study of Koreans in the Chicago, Illinois area provides a focus for discussion. Video inserts and guests include: a Korean community (Chicago, Illinois), Professor Dr. Michael Omi of Ethnic Studies (University of California, Berkley), Professor Kwang Chung Kim (Western Illinois University), Professor Shin Kim (University of Chicago), Chinese immigrant Gloria Chu, Indian immigrant Dr. Jagan Lingamneni, and Vietnamese immigrant Peter Pham.
